Role Overview:

Working within a team working on cutting edge engineering automation solutions, the Automation Engineer will utilize the latest technologies to develop automated manufacturing and test facilities.

The successful candidate will work within a multi-discipline Engineering team to provide cutting edge innovative solutions to support an award-winning manufacturing facility.

The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate ideas clearly, be well organised, self-motivated and accountable, whilst working in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. They will have an innovative approach to design with good analytical abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop bespoke Automation solutions.
  • Research latest technologies and ideas and develop them for use in the production environment.
  • Liaising with internal and external companies to manufacture designs.
  • Building, test and debugging equipment designs and control circuits.
  • Produce documentation in accordance with required safety standards.
  • Collaborate with a cross-discipline engineering team, communicating best practices, ideas and project updates to the team and senior management.

Essential Criteria:

  • HNC/HND or higher in relevant Engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstratable experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A good understanding or knowledge of electrical/ electronic circuits.
  • Experience of project management, including setting a schedule with clear ownership.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing equipment safety requirements.

Desirable Criteria:

  • An understanding of Robotics.
  • Knowledge or previous experience in PLC Programming.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD Design, preferably SolidWorks/ AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Experience of working with PUWER / COSHH regulations.
