Role Overview:
The role will work as part of the SMT Production Engineering Team, providing technical support and solutions to maximise the performance of our equipment and processes to deliver high quality products. The role will work closely with Operational Managers and Supervisors, as well as the wider Production Engineer team, sharing best practices and providing technical leadership or support as needed. Training will be made available to support personal development, with the right candidate showing strong team player values and behaviours to drive our team and business forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring a safe, clean working environment and ensuring safety standards are met.
- Monitor Production Quality and actively participate and lead where required quality investigations.
- Support the technician team with technical expertise.
- Demonstrate leadership when dealing with the shift engineering team and support the engineering manager in driving positive engagement.
- Work collaboratively to ensure the smooth transition of New Model Introduction (NMI) or New Equipment to the shop floor. Ensuring full training for technicians and TPM is completed.
- Lead the NMI introduction for Production Engineering ensuring adequate hand overs are complete with relevant documentation.
- Analyse existing production performance data, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance production efficiency.
- Periodically reviewing TPM’s to uphold safety and quality standards.
- Use root cause analysis tools to fully investigate quality defects and breakdowns.
- Technical report writing for all major breakdowns.
- Present spend proposals, KPI data and improvement activities to management when required.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum HNC in an engineering discipline, Mechanical or Electrical.
- Understanding of circuit board assembly/Test machine.
- Good communication skills
- Computer literate (Proficiency in Outlook & Excel)
- Process driven, with a methodical approach to problem solving
- Proficient in Root Cause Analysis (Six Sigma, KT, 8D)
Desirable Criteria:
- Understanding of electrical circuit diagrams
- Experience working in a high-volume production environment
- Experience in similar role.
